The Niger State Government School Students lament over the NECO Results held.Products of different government owned Secondary Schools in niger state has expressed dissatisfaction over non-payment of Neco registration fees by Niger state government, which deny students Access to their results.
If you recall the National Examination Coucil (NECO) has released June/July 2020 Neco result, withholding the result of students in the states that are owing the council.
The examination management body withhold student's results from all government owned Secondary Schools across Niger state.
Many affected students in Niger state lamented over the development and stated fear of possible admission deprivation in Nigeria's Higher Institution of learning if nothing is done by the authorities concern.
Legalresearch.com.ng Interview some of the students from different schools which they expressed a great sadness over the state government.
Adamu Zakari Aliyu mantafien, a Student of Government science College Gagara expressed his sadness and urge governor Abubakar Sani Bello to rectify the issue.
"Very recently Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) instructed all candidates to upload their O level results in the Board's portal if they want to be consider in this year admission exercise.
"Niger state government must show concern about the welfare of the people and quality education, governor Sani Bello must rise to save us from loosing admission at different tertiary institutions in Nigeria.
Many universities, polytechnics and colleges of education has started fixing date for POST-UTME screening, and O level result is among the compulsory requirement in the screening exercise.
"Therefore, on behalf of all Niger state students graduated in 2020, I am calling on Niger state governor Abubakar sani Bello lolo, to as a matter of urgency authorise the immediate payment of NECO registration fees in order to allow us access to our results," Adamu added.
Meanwhile, Hassana Hassan and Hussaina Hassan a students of Government day secondry School Lemu, lamented the delay in the payment of NECO registration fees by the state government.
"Governor Abubakar is among the advocates of girl-child education, we hope he will not allow the disruption of our academic future.
We therefore calling on him to do anything possible to ensure Niger state female students are not deny admission in the nation's tertiary institutions as a result of non-payment of NECO registration fees.
Most of the senior officials of Niger State Ministry of Education didn't respond to the issue, almost Every year it most happend it has become a culture to the state government. We are pleading to all the Government officials they should do something regard to this issue of non-payment of NECO registration fees.
One senior education official who disclosed anonymity said, "there are plans on ground to settle NECO registration fees and very soon all students will access their results."
